Diverse conflicts have had a great influence on the world since ancient times. Human beings will not throw away strife. It is a fact on the history of the earth. In the situation Japan and Taiwan have good relations by some miracle.
Why have they been able to maintain it? Both nations shared lots of values in the period of Japanese rule. Moreover, after Japan left Taiwan in 1945, even though the countries are in the absence of diplomatic relations, people in Japan and Taiwan have been continuing private cultural exchange. It is the most important factor.
I think Sakura, cherry blossom, is one of them. The flower is not only in Japan but also in East Asia including Taiwan, making people in the area touched and comfortable regardless of cultural difference and political conflict. Therefore, it is just like a symbol of peace.
The problem about Taiwan and China is very difficult, so the relation between them will not be improved in a short period of time. Meanwhile, the collaborations made by Japan, Taiwan and Korea are easy to proceed compared to it. Sakura will be a catalyst to promote the movement if the way to utilize it is designed properly.
When you watch Sakura only in Japan, you will think it is a flower of Japanese soul. However, considering that it ejxists in the other countries, we can say that it has a role connecting people all over the world. Taking good care of the viewpoint, I’d like to keep explore the possibility of the flower.
